Brightly colored summer fruits and vegetables freshly harvested from the garden, almost worthy of a Farmer's Market.

I was born and educated in England, and grew up on a farm in a small village in Dorset, a rural county immortalized by Thomas Hardy’s novels and poetry. My work is a continuum of this early experience and is rooted in the natural environment. I explore the countryside from my own deep familiarity with and knowledge of particular places and processes. My practice is often driven by walking in areas close to home in the US and the UK. Walking is a meditation that enables me to immerse myself in place and then to work imaginatively in my art practice. I work in a broad variety of 2D and 3D media selected in each case to explore and express the unique character of the environments I have access to. I wish those who experience my work to discover a renewed feeling of intimacy with the often-familiar natural environment. Fundamentally my work is about the beauty of what we can have around us. My work is in public and private collections in the US and Europe, and I exhibit widely.
