One of my favorite summertime drinks is a fresh limeade. This painting depicts the remnants of one and the ice and lime slices sit in a ringed Mexican blue glass. The sides of the stretched canvas are painted, but stapled so framing would be recommended.
For over a decade Mary Hughes has been creating a variety of paintings depicting what she loves about life, and covering each subject thoroughly. Her works in oil on stretched canvas depict birds, dogs and other pets, wildlife, seacapes, realistic still life and once in a while, people. She has a passion for realism that is most often reflected in her paintings of glass, or the glint in a dog's eye. Having no formal art training aside from some wonderful high school instructors and her grandmother, Mary is primarily self taught. She sees every painting as a learning experience. Her work over the years has been a mix of inspiration, and her deep desire to constantly improve. Her paintings can be found in private collections in Israel, France, Denmark, England, Canada, Japan and the U.S.
