Ready to Hang
This piece is the final in a series inspired by a visit to Coney Island. Hauntingly lonely, sad, but yet so contrived, the place made me think about a bygone era.
Is the Thin Man still there? Is he still waiting on the midway? After the clouds have passed, will anyone come and see him again?
This personal favorite is done on a ready to hang gallery wrapped canvas. Art wraps around all sides so it requires no frame.
My name is Markus Lewis, and I am a Vango Artist. I paint, A lot. My obsession centers around the human form. Age and gender don't make a difference- as long a the characters created form a story, the viewer is intrigued, the imagination is ignited and the cocktails pour;-then my job is done. I love to create pieces that would hang in the swankiest of soirees, in the hippest spaces, art that entertains and adds a sense of query to the room. Solve a puzzle, finish my story, and buy my art. Schooled by everyone from internationally known Art Historians to World Class painters, in nearly every medium; sculpture, collage, color, oils, acrylic watercolor, ebony lead, all to percolate into the pieces I offer today.
