Ready to Hang
This painting is part of a series on diversity and relationship. Each flower is different, and they manage to exist happily in the same space. Just like people!
Closeness Number One comes ready to hang in a lovely white floater frame.
Nature has always been my inspiration. Flowers have the ability to attractt and awe with their beauty, and I seek to convey those feelings through my art. I work in series of three or more pieces at a time, as a way to study the plants in depth, and as a meditation. Each piece in a series is named and numbered. In addition to paintings, I create 3-D mixed media pieces, and produce etchings and photos. This body of work has evolved over time, from portraits of individual flowers, to a 36-painting series titled, “The Journey”, depicting the life cycle of an orchid, to the “Mummers” and "Closeness" series depicting flowers in organic, grid-like compositions. My art has been exhibited across the US and in Turks and Caicos. The most recent solo exhibition was held at the Kathryn Markel Gallery in Bridgehampton, NY, in January of 2016. I live in Long Island, NY and New York City. Thank you for visiting my Vango portfolio. Please visit my website to see more art: marissabridge.com.
