This is my first portrait of a man. I wanted to create an artwork that would be dark in color, but also have a lot of emotions in it.

I am an 18 year old college student that hopes to one day make a living off of her art. I was born in New Jersey, and moved to Puerto Rico when I was 4. While living in PR I discovered that I had a passion for art and started to take classes in order to be better and learn the proper techniques. When I was 13, my father died, and therefore I had to live with my guardians in Dallas, Texas. I went to high school there and focused on academics and art as much as possible. I earned 36 college credits just from taking Advanced Placement classes and have won many awards in art competitions. I was even selected to paint the professional portrait of the superintendent for her elementary school. I am currently studying art at the Maryland Institute College of Art and hope to major in General Fine Arts with a concentration in curatorial arts or illustration.
