"Uplifting series is in pink/red/turquoise colors, made with art resin and acrylic on canvas. From the first days that I started experimenting in these mediums, whenever I entered the studio I felt joy, clarity, peace and elevation in spiritual and emotional sense. I could not resist to name them Upliftings, after this experience".

"Nature, colors and materials inspire me the most. I follow the potentials of the materials, in a free, gestural process, which reminds of free associations in psychotherapy and meditation. I see one point and the whole, almost at the same time, again and again. I release and I hold, add and erase, again and again. I let my instinct and emotion flow, observing carefully how the elements of art communicate with each other; I form a composition that satisfies my aesthetic, emotional, and spiritual pursuit.

I usually use acrylic combined with pigments. I work layer after layer, creating transparencies, revealing the best textures and design elements; I bring into being a unique and mysterious atmosphere, in a dynamic and passionate manner, full of energy, close to abstract expressionism".

After early studies in Child Psychology and Psychotherapy, Maria Bacha attained a B.A. in Fine/Studio Arts General in 2000 from the University of La Verne, Athens. She perfected her technique by taking Drawing and Color lessons at Michalis Veloudios Art Studio between 2000 and 2003. Since then, Maria has focused on professional art exploration. Teaching Art classes, creating set designs, illustrations for public school, mounting group and solo exhibitions, all amount of her art career, with her artworks present in private collections in Greece, London and New York.
