Slightly larger Pretty Frida painting, this one is full of color and texture. Roses in
her hair and a neutral khaki background. Frida has rosy cheeks and a
light blue/aqua dress with a collar inspired by early Picasso portraits.
This is a very detailed and very textural painting of Frida Kahlo. I painted her in
thick oil paint, lots of pretty color in the roses in her hair and a neutral
gray/khaki background to make all the colors pop!Abstract impasto style. Frida is wearing her ever-present gold dangly
earrings and a light blue/aqua dress. Leaves in her flowers have a bit of pretty olive/
Painted with high quality Winsor Newton oil paint, the water mixable kind so no
stinky fumes. Heavy cotton canvas, wrapped 3/4" sides painted same gray/khaki
so no need to frame unless you want to.
Here my favorite quotes of Frida, pretty sure I can relate:
"I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and I'm just as strange as you.”
― Frida Kahlo
There are not a whole of I things I can think of, art related, that I haven't done at some point in time. I've been a graphic designer, a published poster artist, a freelance designer, a mural painter, and -my favorite of all - an inner-city high school art teacher here in Dallas at a wonderful school. For over 12 years I worked with interior design art reps and provided art for many high-end public and private spaces. The time has come for me to do more of my own PAINTING and I sure hope you enjoy seeing my art. I started painting in HIGH SCHOOL and never stopped.
