I have an obsession with the pasts' aesthetics. The artisans touch when it comes to designing cars, buildings, art and especially old photographs. The way old pictures fade and bleed from a worn out polaroid or the way old movies are executed. My paintings are derived from old photographs that I have accumulated here and there from local thrift stores, dirty flea market bins, online markets, and my favorite, commissioned from people's own family albums. Im a voyeur into peoples lives and get excited when I find the image that I truly want to paint. In the past few years Ive also been interested in the lost art of sign painting and typography. Its all around us and its subliminal effect is quite interesting to me. It seems like only a handful of people in the community truly appreciate this art and understand how it molds our psyche into doing what it intends to do.

Manny Fabregas is one of San Francisco’s burgeoning Filipino American artists. The desire to forge a career as a painter brought him to the Bay Area from Los Angeles in 2003. His innate aesthetic sensibility has afforded a significant measure of success in his nascent profession. Early exhibitions such as "Familiar" at the Pigman Gallery (2004) and the Great American Music Hall “Dare Stay Late” event (2005) proved to be an auspicious beginning for Manny, both of which were met with astounding acclaim. His contribution to the San Francisco art community is distinguished by deftly crafted paintings and drawings imbued with compelling subject matter and a unique sense of style and composition. *SFMOMA artist community
