This is part of a two piece set, listed separately. This piece tells the story of a girls who sees herself as vastly different than the world sees her. She has an eating disorder, but she is taking her life back by smashing the incorrect perception in the mirror. The other painting in this series tells the opposite story, of a kitten who sees himself as a panther. Our self-image can be way off from reality! This was in a Las Vegas art show about the ego. This is made with a real mirror, which I smashed with a hammer and then painted. The process was tricky but it all came together, and is glued in place and covered with protective varnish.

I am an acrylic fine artist from Upstate NY. I enjoyed art as a hobby all my life, but I really became inspired after moving to Las Vegas many years ago. Surrounded by new scenery and boring white walls, I started painting just to decorate my home. Friends and family encouraged me to sell my work, so I gave it a try. Six months later I was a full time artist! I've been the featured artist in several Las Vegas galleries, and my work has been shown online with a worldwide audience. My art has been in The Mirage Hotel/ Casino, West Elm store, and DragonRidge Country Club, to name just a few. Now I co-own an art gallery in the Las Vegas Arts District, called Obsidian Fine Art, along with a fellow artist and friend. I have been featured in Vegas Seven, Las Vegas Weekly, the Las Vegas Review Journal, The Indie Mag, DTLV Magazine, Raw Femme's Femme Mob, and Arts, Artists Artwork (a worldwide online platform). I hope you enjoy my work!
