Ready to Hang
This is an 8x24" painting on canvas with a 1/2" cradle and is ready to hang. This painting was created with the pouring method. I first painted the background a teal color. Then I took several colors, thin them with pouring medium, layered colors in a cup and did what's called a "flip and drag", where you flip the paint over onto the canvas and then drag the colors around. This method is so exciting because you never know how the painting will turn out.
Art in all its many forms has inspired me since I was four years old where I would try to copy the Sunday comics. Over the years, my love of art and the maturity of my work has grown into a love affair. I am now more dedicated than ever to creating works of art that people will enjoy for years to come. This desire to inspire others with my creations acts as my catalyst to see the beauty and inspiration in the world around me. I am a native Oregonian currently living in Portland. I grew up on a farm where nature was everywhere. This constant connection with nature helped me appreciate it for its powerful color and beauty. With the exception of taking a couple of art classes I am completely self-taught. I have spent hours pouring over reference manuals, reading about other artists, visiting galleries and shows but most importantly, spending countless hours in my studio. My works of art are truly images of my soul and every piece starts as an inspiring moment in my life. Thank you.
