Ready to Hang
In this multi-layered painting, shadowy images rise to create a textured playground. Bold marks in bright colors dance on the surface, playing against each other. The tension is between the bold opaque shapes and the translucent washes in the background. Where does your eye rest? This is an original painting on stretched canvas, with the image continuing around the 1.5" sides so that no frame is required. It comes with picture wire, ready to hang.
Lynne’s work has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad.
Lynne Taetzsch’s abstract paintings are hanging in private homes and corporate offices throughout the world. She has been in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in New York, California, Florida, and elsewhere in the USA. She studied fine art at Cooper Union, the University of California, and the University of Southern California. Describing her painting process, Lynne says: It’s the painting surface that I love - the lusciousness of color in its thick and thin varieties, flat and opaque to keep the eye on the surface, or transparent and airy to suggest deep space. My goal is to stay as close to the edge as possible, to keep that sense of organic happening, as if the painting had grown itself rather than having been crafted by me. Yet it is the artist's eye that seeks to prevail, telling the hand to add that last brush stroke which brings it all together.
