My art pieces are inspired by my love and passion for science, astronomy, and the world around us.
I mainly work with acrylic and a bit of mixed media in my abstract canvas pieces. Watercolors are still my passion when it comes to working with paper mediums.
I draw my palette inspiration from the NASA and amateur astrophotography. I believe that using those colors in my abstract pieces allows the observer --and myself as an artist-- to experience their beauty in a new way. Each piece is created with help of research, hours of experimentations..and sometimes luck.
I absolutely love that the techniques I use will never render the same results even when the same palette is used.

I grew up in a small town three hours away from Saint-Persburg, Russia. My mother was a biology/chemistry teacher at a local school, and my father -- a fighter jet pilot. My time after school was spent playing outside, discovering the world first-hand. At the age of 10, my family and I moved to the most beautiful city in Russia-- Saint-Petersburg. This is the place where art and art culture truly started to integrate themselves into my personality and my outlook on the world. Hermitage, Russian Museum, and the sheer architecture of the city itself breathed art, history, and inspiration, and I couldn't get enough of that air. I became involved in an art school at age 12, and my love for watercolors was born. Every week, an artist guide, a small group of young teens my age or older, and I would go to the Russian Museum and discuss paintings almost to the meaning of a single brush stroke. Looking back to that early time in my life, I realize how much it has made me the artist I am now. In 2004, my family and I immigrated to the US. New York City became our new home...an infinite door to art, culture, and inspiration. In High School, I got involved in an Art Club, and met my friends that I am close with to this day. As for many of us, high school is a time for discovery and decision making as to who we want to be. And although I was passionate about art, I was also very curious about science and medicine. Luckily, I am able to blend those two passions in my art today.
