I have been inspired to this painting by my grandfather, he was born in Milano and he is a very good cook, especially for the Risotto Milanese, with saffron and truffles!! Whenever he cooks this marvel, on Sunday, there is a discussion in my family for the butter: he thinks the butter is essential, but it is not true!!!
I love this yellow, it's vital and joyous!
Lucia’s hyper-realist depictions of food are enough to make even the passive observer salivate. Based near Asti, Italy, Lucia creates paintings that strive to be even better than reality. Her crisp backgrounds contrast with and highlight the vibrant colors of her edible subjects. Lucia has an impeccable understanding of color theory, and uses only four colors when she paints: red, yellow, blue, and white. She mixes her other delicious hues using only this primary color palette. Lucia is proud to work for herself doing what she loves. She finds joy going into the studio to her colors, favorite music, and “the smell of turpentine in the air!” "In my paintings I found mixed elements typical of my land, including food and wine and typical elements of my character, radiance, positivity and love for nature. My hyperrealism wants shine the reality, showing it clear and clean, get it out from the canvas to dirty your lips with a pastry or stain your dress with a few drops of wine. My technique, oil on canvas, is aimed at a faithful representation of the subject without exasperating detail and letting imagination complete the visual excitement , flavour and taste that my paintings pleasently cause."
