Phoenix resident, Loren Yagoda, grew up surrounded by art in a family of collectors, architects and designers, so it’s no surprise that her life and career center around painting, sculpture and design. At 40, Loren returned to school and received her art degree (BFA) from the Memphis College of Art and began focusing more on painting than her interior design business. While working for a Scottsdale collector of 3 dimensional art, Loren added another layer to her artistic work in the form of ceramics. Today she creatively manages all of her passions, painting, interior design and sculpting, through Yagoda Art and Design. Her compositions are intended to simplify one’s vision, setting the stage for a calm environment. There is a soft, ethereal feeling that one derives from the absence of bright color. Her purpose is to create a peaceful mood using a dominantly neutral pallet, however she isn’t surprised to find herself using vivid colors at times. All of her work contains simple forms, clean lines and texture.
