((SOLD to one of my students, took it home after class.-6/11/16)) "As a huge Fifth Element fan, I've begun a series of character fan-art, in the spirit of the film, with tribute to the dedication and time poured into it from the Artists who designed the look and feel of the film before reels ever began rolling. Diva Plavalaguna is an unforgettable character played humbly by Maïwenn Le Besco. While not originally cast for the film at all, I simply cannot imagine anyone else pouring their heart into an imagined being the way she did. Throughout painting this fan-art piece, I was moved into song and heard the lingering impressions of Inva Mulla Tchako (now Inva Mula) who sang the emotional song that introduced the starlight of the character. There were 5 shades of blue, not including the ones I mixed with those 5, which I used to paint the Diva, including a pearl, neon, and iridescent shade so, this piece changes in different lighting. The edges of this painting are painted in black so it doesn't require a frame." -M.E.
"Aloha! My name is Mandy Elliott and I'm a self-taught Artist originally from the Space Coast of Florida and now residing in the Heart of Virginia. Creating isn't just a passion for me, it's a part of me. I come from a background of artists, musicians, mechanics, engineers, and carpenters. One thing we all have in common is an ability to imagine something and then make it real. Some of us also share the ability to understand what others imagine and make that real. We are inventors and innovators. It's those skills which got me through a troubled home, and gave me success in the corporate world from Sales to Escalations Management. None of that fulfilled me though, and I had to ask myself why I limiting myself when I could unleash myself into something I love? Art. I'd been creating and selling my Art since 1998, but in 2010 I dove in to the part of me that creates from the inside. I've showcased in Melbourne Florida, Orlando Florida, Historic Kissimmee Florida, Cincinnati Ohio, and since September 2016 I have Artwork in an Earth Art collection in Space, courtesy of NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission to the asteroid Bennu. #WeTheExplorers ... I watched NASA launch shuttles from the Cape, viewed from my back yard as a kid, and now I have Art in Space. I'd say my life is complete but... creating Art isn't something I can just turn off anymore. I am an Artist." -M.E. ______________________ _______________________ [[ All artworks protectively sealed, ready to hang, professionally shipped with a certificate of authenticity (CoA), Artist Pamphlet, "Talking About Art is Hard..." greeting card to give insight and talking points about your specific painting(s), and a hand written note from the Artist.
