"My twin sister and I were born on the eve of the Spring Equinox, between the second and third total Lunar Eclipse in a set of four total lunar eclipses. I didn't know this piece would be a Dream Window, nor observing such an event as a Total Lunar Eclipse when I began, rather I simply wanted to use minimal colors to tell a colorful story. So I started with a black wash in matte black. Staring at the blank, black canvas with only brush strokes showing through the paint to guide me, I saw nothing but possibilities I couldn't refine. So, I impulsive picked up a toothbrush and splattered some stars across the darkness. Immediately I knew the moon would join them, and only in painting it did I see the eclipse in progress and painted that too. With some dark swashing and neon undertoning, I had to include a dark cloud and the reflections in otherwise dark waters. The shooting star happened naturally when a splatter of white was too heavy with wetness and began to drip but got caught in one of the brushstrokes ridging from the black. I liked it so I kept it. Some of the stars were painted in neon colors to give the sky some shimmer without glitter and finally the need of dream catchers! Note, though they appear white, it's a trick of the light, and other lighting will reveal the purple and blues of the iridescent and pearl paints used." -M.E.

"Aloha! My name is Mandy Elliott and I'm a self-taught Artist originally from the Space Coast of Florida and now residing in the Heart of Virginia. Creating isn't just a passion for me, it's a part of me. I come from a background of artists, musicians, mechanics, engineers, and carpenters. One thing we all have in common is an ability to imagine something and then make it real. Some of us also share the ability to understand what others imagine and make that real. We are inventors and innovators. It's those skills which got me through a troubled home, and gave me success in the corporate world from Sales to Escalations Management. None of that fulfilled me though, and I had to ask myself why I limiting myself when I could unleash myself into something I love? Art. I'd been creating and selling my Art since 1998, but in 2010 I dove in to the part of me that creates from the inside. I've showcased in Melbourne Florida, Orlando Florida, Historic Kissimmee Florida, Cincinnati Ohio, and since September 2016 I have Artwork in an Earth Art collection in Space, courtesy of NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission to the asteroid Bennu. #WeTheExplorers ... I watched NASA launch shuttles from the Cape, viewed from my back yard as a kid, and now I have Art in Space. I'd say my life is complete but... creating Art isn't something I can just turn off anymore. I am an Artist." -M.E. ______________________ _______________________ [[ All artworks protectively sealed, ready to hang, professionally shipped with a certificate of authenticity (CoA), Artist Pamphlet, "Talking About Art is Hard..." greeting card to give insight and talking points about your specific painting(s), and a hand written note from the Artist.
