I was surprised when a friend at college said to me, “I envy you. As an artist you see beauty in everything”. Until then I had not realized that we don’t all see the same thing and that my talent was not just a propensity to create but also a unique way of appreciating what I saw.

It is not just the view, scenery or objects that matter but how, as an artist I am able to perceive and interpret them. I see things that are uplifting and inspiring to me and I capture my vision in my paintings from the subjects I feel a deep connection with.

My paintings shine a spotlight on the beauty of God’s palette that I see and I am always pushing myself to hone and evolve my artistic skills to create art that is fresh, original and a genuine expression of my personal view and connection with my beautiful surroundings.

Lloyd Dobson Artist was born in Kansas City, Missouri, migrated to Southern California and now makes his home in the Siesta Key - Sarasota, Florida area. Here his studio brings to life his surroundings, his memories of the west coast, Caribbean vacations and Siesta Key tropical beach scenes. He has created a collective body of artworks entitled my life experiences coupled with God's beautiful scenery. His vibrant, happy and fun colored oil painting hits on exaggerated notes stolen from everyday life, while using the artist's own experiences that only a dyed-in-the-wool love of nature's beauty truly understands. Lloyd's work is enjoyed in hundreds of private collections throughout the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. You can find Lloyd at the Siesta Key Farmers Market at 5104 Ocean Blvd every Sunday from 8am to 1pm or at the Siesta Key Public Beach every Wednesday morning painting LIVE at 548 Beach Rd from 9am to 12noon
