This piece just flowed from my brushes. Sometimes I paint and paint and paint and nothing seems to thrill me. As soon as I got my palette set with these colors I knew it would turn into something cool.
From the beginning this piece took me to the Caribbean. I was thinking about how beautiful Haiti must have been before it was ravaged with corrupt leaders and catastrophic weather. Now it is destitute and desperate but she still remembers her beautiful beginning when the breezes blew softly through the palm trees and the local cottages were painted with bright colorful paint leftover from the fishing boats.

My name is Lisa Fasulo. I have been a lifelong painter, making it my career since I was 13 years old. I went on to earn a BA degree in Art from SUNY Cortland in New York. I studied painting and art history in Siena, Italy in the early 80's. After a long career in hand painted clothing, I became a tattoo artist (I even had my own TV show!). After 15 crazy and zany years in the tattoo biz I longed to get back to painting. So here I am! Thank you for visiting my portfolio.
