Shades of Pacific, 6x6x1.5", Palette Knife in Oil on Archival Deep Edge Gallery Wrap Canvas
November 2015, fresh from my studio in the San Francisco Bay
This painting was inspired by my love of the Pacific coastline here in California. Many people share my fondness for this wonderful part of the world, with its rugged cliffs, wild ocean currents and breathtaking beauty. I used a delicious color palette of deep blues and purples along with earthy golds to create a textured and gestural palette knife painting. It is on a deep edge canvas, so can sit on a shelf, or be hung on the wall. Makes a beautiful gift!
My Artist's Statement:
Lisa is an award winning, modern palette knife artist with an unmistakable style, and colorful liveliness in her distinctive paintings. Given the name “The Knife Queen” by one of her many facebook fans, Lisa maneuvers her artistic knife with an uncanny fluidity. She creates vibrant landscapes, cityscapes, and portraits, hanging internationally in collectors’ homes across the USA, England, Ireland, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. It takes a very talented and accomplished artist to use a painting or palette knife. This technique is unique, as the paint is applied very thickly, adding subtle highlights with a beautiful sense of light and movement. Combined with this, is Lisa’s outstanding ability to capture with her knife the incredible detail and personal elements that will resonate with your subconscious, and transport you into her colorful world of visual transcendence.
