I enjoy working with the notion of the ephemeral as well as the nostalgic. The ephemerality of emotions and experiences motivates me to think abstractly, and as a product, a lot of my abstract paintings are made.
Nostalgia is another point of departure for my art, as nostalgic notions through the materiality of the media I may choose reflect different moments of my past and my present experiences. In this instance, this is reflective of a time when my father and I had gotten trapped in a small sandstorm in rural Sicily in 2012.
My name is Lisa Massa, I am 20 years of age and I am a visual artist based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I have been practicing art since I was very young, yet have been creating on a professional level since 2014. Some of my disciplinary interests are in painting, drawing, printmaking and mixed media. I am currently a student studying at Concordia University, with pursuits of becoming a full-time artist and art historian.
