These paintings are part of a series of work that is considered experimental, using packing tape as a medium to create texture and depth. They are finished off with an epoxy resin to seal and protect the packing tape from pealing off. This also helps create an even deeper effect for the layers. Fun to make. Fun to look at. However, I have found that they are sensitive to direct, hot, sunlight, like western light. Unless the window has a treatment to block the heat, so placement needs to be considered.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, I knew from a very young age I wanted to be an artist. When I entered High School I began to homeschool so I could devout time to painting. For a short period of time during my senior year I attended a private High School for the arts. While I was accepted to the prestigious Lyme Academy, I couldn't afford to attend and started college at the local community college. Making a fatal relationship decision in my early 20's, I became trapped in an abusive relationship for 10 years, making it impossible to create. Once free, I finished my education at the University of Utah, never giving up on my dream, always persevering, tackling every hurdle and road block with the determination to work that much harder. Today, I am a happy creator with experience of life, and art under my belt. I have 4 children, 3 teenagers from my first marriage, and a fairly new baby from my loving husband now. They have been a part of my growth as an artist, stretching me, and pushing my boundaries and influencing my creative processes. The thing I have learned about being an artist, is how much life is a part of what you do, because everything around you influences the choices you make within the artwork, small things, that are sometimes taken for granted.
