The reason I chose the title for this piece was because the colors of the tulips were so striking they called for attention. The intensity of the Reds was very appealing.
I created this piece when I needed to be reassured after an illnes in the family. So while the flowers were drooping the color and intensity made them beautiful and alive. The blood red was very significant to me at the time.
My inspiration in creating this piece was that life is in the blood and makes for a beautiful color in flowers and paintings. They give their all then fade away.

Being a professional artist for many years has taught me to appreciate the viewer as much as the art. For me, It's a constant journey, with every blank canvas a challenge to create a two dimensional representation of the beauty around me. As a mother my first dedication was to my children and they became works of art more beautiful than I could imagine. I am so glad I invested time in them before my art. The rewards are awesome. Now they are grown and I can dedicate time doing what I love, to making more joyful visually pleasing works of art. Thanks for reading about me and I hope you find something you like. Empty walls are just not right, don't you think?.
