The reason I chose the title for this piece was that the flowers and the focals seem to be struggling to emerge from the shadows.

When I created this piece I wanted to do a floral but my son got deathly ill and it came through in my work. I was able to preserve the flowers from the shadows but it was a struggle.

My inspiration in creating this piece was to overcome and shine through circumstances in my life.

I can do brighter works now.

Being a professional artist for many years has taught me to appreciate the viewer as much as the art. For me, It's a constant journey, with every blank canvas a challenge to create a two dimensional representation of the beauty around me. As a mother my first dedication was to my children and they became works of art more beautiful than I could imagine. I am so glad I invested time in them before my art. The rewards are awesome. Now they are grown and I can dedicate time doing what I love, to making more joyful visually pleasing works of art. Thanks for reading about me and I hope you find something you like. Empty walls are just not right, don't you think?.
