This painting has a warm and cool gray mixed background that also has small amounts of color showing through the gray. The brighter colors you see are those areas that have been scraped off therefore allowing for the 'splendor' to be uncovered and now visible. The inspiration for this painting comes from the belief that even if beauty is not evident on the outside, it is still likely there is beauty in the inside - or in this case, underneath the gray tones. It's a very cool looking piece especially since it has been painted on a 2" deep hardwood board. It's 12" Wide x 12" High x 2" Deep with the sides painted black. The surfaces are covered with a satin varnish to protect against sunlight and dust. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany the work.

Artist Bio: Being able to visually express my feelings, thoughts and passions onto a canvas is a very exciting and fulfilling experience for me. As a matter of fact, I have come to realize that painting for the glory of God is my calling and I am very passionate about it. For the last several years, I have enjoyed creating hundreds of paintings of a variety of techniques, textures and color palettes. My paintings range from 6” x 6” to larger sizes such as 60” x 48”. My paintings are created using a number of palette knives, brushes, not to mention kitchen type tools such as spatulas and rolling pins! Forever in love with art - Linda.
