Ready to Hang
TREE 2011 16X16X.50 ACRYLIC ON CANVAS
I took ornamental horticulture in school since the availability of art classes were very limited. It turned out to be one of the best choices I ever made. I was taught how high, color, decidious or evergreen many trees are. Now as in many parts of my life I have incorporated my knowledge in the is art piece.
I have painted the sides the same yellow as the front and wired the back so it is ready to hang.
My hope is that my work is not only seen by you but also felt. If my paintings evoke a feeling, emotion, memory or simple smile, I've accomplished what I started out to do.
I truly love to paint because it feeds my soul. Self taught, and feeling little restraint, I paint in various styles, from my own perspective. The accuracy of my paintings originates from years of working on scale models. I prefer to paint in acrylic for certain subjects but do like the feel of oil and canvas. Currently I live and paint in Ballard, a young, hip district of Seattle Washington. A lot of revitalization has happened in the last decade. I find it easy to tap into the energy.
