Ready to Hang
Curator's Note: Here the artist chooses a well known icon in the Pacific North West and adds a bit of her own flair as she adds an bright pop of orange to the blue-gray backdrop.
The reason I chose the title for this piece is because of it's a Seattle Icon.
I created this piece this year. I had to paint it in the Galaxy Gold Paint on top because, in my opinion, the original color is still the best.
My inspiration in creating this piece is simple, the needle is the skyline of Seattle.
This cute little painting comes wired and ready to hang. No need for a frame since all sides are painted for a finished look.
I truly love to paint because it feeds my soul. Self taught, and feeling little restraint, I paint in various styles, from my own perspective. The accuracy of my paintings originates from years of working on scale models. I prefer to paint in acrylic for certain subjects but do like the feel of oil and canvas. Currently I live and paint in Ballard, a young, hip district of Seattle Washington. A lot of revitalization has happened in the last decade. I find it easy to tap into the energy.
