Delicate colors of an early morning sky - yellow and warm pink - provide the smooth, glossy ground for a sweep of texture that could be a wisp of fog or a mountain ridge. The calm and gentle colors of this piece are created by pouring hot wax, both pink and yellow, onto a wood panel. They mix softly as they meet, and this soft edge adds to the serenity of the piece.
My name is Linda Frueh. I am an artist working in encaustic, which is molten beeswax/resin/pigment. It has wonderful sculptural and translucency qualities, and with it I make original paintings and sculptures to grace your living or workspace. If you see something that interests you but would prefer a different size or color scheme, please feel free to contact me. It is especially satisfying to work with a client to create unique works that express your own style! A fascinating property of encaustic is that it can be used to preserve and enhance fragile materials - a special photograph, a handwritten letter, an old map or other mementos that have special meaning for you alone. I am happy to work with you to incorporate your materials into a lasting work of art. Thank you for visiting my portfolio!
