Law Blank has been painting, showing in galleries, and selling his work for over 30 years. Law’s current series of paintings “Reconnecting Time and Memory – Buddha | Munchausen | Freud” will attempt to address memory in its clear and its fabricated glory. Focusing on childhood memory, it will be my exercise in recalling the intangible fears, achievements, expectations, love and loss in an interpretive leap of faith. I find the gaps in memory, for a creative person, allows for filler in the form of desire, or self-aggrandizing backstory. The results are indicative of our current state of self and denial. The narrative of each canvas will live independent of each other, but thread a consistent notion that time and memory are intrinsically connected and we truly do not have a grasp on either. In addition to Law's main body of work, he takes in his local landscape in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and portrays views of Chester County. This work provides a relaxed and fun outlet for painting without the pressure of producing a series. A good bit of technique and experimentation end up being tested on the animal and landscape painting. Law is also active in many other areas of creativity and philanthropy: Board Member: Sing Me a Story Foundation Advisory Board Member: Resident Theater Company, West Chester, PA Principal Learning and Performance Consultant for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Principal Songwriter for Robots Eat People and Law Blank He is also the founder of a new media outlet called stART Talking Art, which promotes art and creativity with interview, presentations, and featured artist.
