This painting is a unique piece of art is done with an encaustic wax medium which is a combined mixture of melted refined white beeswax together with a small amount of Damar crystals tree sap for durability. Specially made pigmented wax is melted and combined with the medium. It is painted onto and a cradled Birch panel. This method gives the piece and incredible dimensional, texture and a translucency that cannot be achieved with any other medium.

This unique painting is rich with teal green, teal blues and ocean foam color, with a luscious wax translucency, giving it unique movement, depth and a wonderful texture. The ocean freighter seen here is a 3-Dimensional element jutting out of the painting giving this piece its own unique personality and making it a truly one of a kind piece. It is signed by the artist on back, is labeled with all pertinent information and comes with a certificate of authenticity also signed by the artist.

I am an artist living in Northeast Massachusetts and have been into creating art since I was very small. My most exciting thing ever was, and still is, when I would get new art supplies. It gets me inspired even today to get back to my studio and paint something new. I love to work with oil paint with its buttery consistency and vibrant color. Painting wet in wet for me is such a wonderful process, as one brush stroke grows and blends into the next. As the painting develops, each stroke feels as though I am breathing life into the painting as it slowly reveals itself to me. My inspiration comes daily in what I see when I am out and about. I am constantly observing what is around me and imagine these sights as a painting on canvas. I observe the color in the highlights, the shadows, the color array, harmony and finally the composition and often times will pull out my camera to capture what I see. I live to create and truly receive great fulfillment for each and every painting I do.
