Ready to Hang
This unique work begins with a print of my original watercolor painting of birch trees, with soft, pastel colors in a winter, snowy blue background. The print is affixed to a cradled Birch panel with rich black stained sides. It is then encased with multiple layers of encaustic clear wax medium that is amazingly translucent, giving it a completely unique, lustrous beauty.

I am an artist living in Northeast Massachusetts and have been into creating art since I was very small. My most exciting thing ever was, and still is, when I would get new art supplies. It gets me inspired even today to get back to my studio and paint something new. I love to work with oil paint with its buttery consistency and vibrant color. Painting wet in wet for me is such a wonderful process, as one brush stroke grows and blends into the next. As the painting develops, each stroke feels as though I am breathing life into the painting as it slowly reveals itself to me. My inspiration comes daily in what I see when I am out and about. I am constantly observing what is around me and imagine these sights as a painting on canvas. I observe the color in the highlights, the shadows, the color array, harmony and finally the composition and often times will pull out my camera to capture what I see. I live to create and truly receive great fulfillment for each and every painting I do.
