Ready to Hang
Enjoy this memory of a family trip to Yosemite: The whisper of the falls calls to you through the rays of the setting sun as you gaze up at them from a meadow across from them. The clouds are starting to turn pinks and corals as the sun begins to bid you good-bye. Its warm rays shine most intensely on the rocks to the right of the falls giving them a soft, yellow color. Go back to the peace of Yosemite in early summer! This piece has painted edges and is ready to hang. It would fit into a frame as it is on a one inch canvas.
As a lifetime artist, my gift has carried me through doldrums, heartbreak, joy and celebration. As I have returned to doing art everyday, my soul is being strengthened and healed of wounds and vices. With gratitude for the opportunity to give the gift of healing and joy, I offer my original pieces to you. My undergraduate degree is in art from the University of Southern Indiana. From 5th to 9th grades, I studied watercolor with Judy Wengrovitz, an amazing teacher and artist. My style is influenced by my favorite artists: Whistler, Winslow Homer, Sargent, Monet, El Greco, Sorolla, and many others. Ideas come to me as I see places or as visions when I am praying. I create sketches and notes and import photos to use as idea bases using an app called Notability. Then I get to work. Usually music of praise or the rosary is on in the background, but I find that I do not directly hear them. In addition, time is suspended. Timers remind me to eat or to stop at a certain time to fulfill obligations. Painting is a time to commune with another reality.
