This piece comes out of my interest in mandalas and the symbolism of circles. The simple yet profound design is centrally located on the canvas and has a centering, meditative effect on the viewer. Underneath the red, green, silver, gold and brown are glimpses of lotus flowers, a component in Eastern art symbolizing opening up and enlightenment.
