Ready to Hang

While I was attending college I started to get frustrated with the work others students were bringing in. It seemed that many people didn't care about the classes and would paint something quickly and carelessly the night before the critique. I started to wonder if it mattered at all what I painted. I thought, "I might as well paint something and then hang it backwards on the wall."

Bingo! Of course! I'll paint the back of a canvas. Staples and all ;)

I am a passionate San Francisco Bay Area artist, who lives to express myself through art. I'm interested in creating unconventional, unexpected paintings and then bringing them into a fine-art setting. I want my work to engage others with images based on communication, sociology, technology, class, gender, body-image and sexuality. As a voyeur, I’m interested in taking captured moments and bringing them into the traditional medium of painting, accomplishing this (hopefully) with a touch of humor. lauralineback.com
