Year Created: 2018
For the past couple of years I've had a word of the year. For 2014 it's "practice"
Practice in creating my art, selling my art, and being committed to being an artist.
Though the year isn't over, I think it would be a wonderful metaphor if this piece sold before the year's end, so that someone else could value this practice.
This is oil paint on canvas paper, so it's flat, will be rolled up, shipped in a tube and need to be framed upon arrival.
Signed on the back.
I am a passionate San Francisco Bay Area artist, who lives to express myself through art. I'm interested in creating unconventional, unexpected paintings and then bringing them into a fine-art setting. I want my work to engage others with images based on communication, sociology, technology, class, gender, body-image and sexuality. As a voyeur, I’m interested in taking captured moments and bringing them into the traditional medium of painting, accomplishing this (hopefully) with a touch of humor. lauralineback.com
