Ready to Hang
Travelling to the waterfront I saw a woman standing on the pier. She was standing there but looked like she was thinking of somewhere far away. when I was painting this piece I was remembering what I felt while watching her. How I wondered what she was feeling. She looked very melancholy.
Laura graduated from the Ontario College of art and design with a bachelors in fine arts and a specialty in printmaking. Originally from Canada, Laura has been in the United States since marrying a U.S. Marine in 2010. Her work tends to use colour and depth to portray mood and movement. She loves experimenting with paint and is currently fascinated with painting on wood panels. Recently recovered from a broken wrist, she has had to adapt to the new ways her hand can move and work. It challenged her to try new tools and techniques and led to a flurry of inspiration and some truly enjoyable artworks. She has more work on her website laurajoart.com
