This piece centers on color and form. It was created with no top or bottom, as I rotated the canvas throughout the process. It wasn't made to represent a particular object, but rather sensations. My energy was focused on the mixing of colors, the scraping sound of the painting knife, the smells in the air, and the golden light that evening. Then I noticed that every time I looked at this piece, my thoughts turned to crowds, maybe pedestrians slowly moving along a hot city sidewalk or vacationers mingling on a popular beach in mid August. That's how this painting got it's name.
Formal instruction, self teaching and a bit of inspiration intersect to help me produce the pieces shared here. My process is very much about connecting with color and form, communicating mood and sensation.
