Ready to Hang
The reason I chose the title for this piece is because it represents one of my favorite places in the world at the best time of day.
I created this piece with colors most evident in the desert landscape of Sedona, AZ. The red rocks, the white clouds, the blue, blue sky.
My inspiration in creating this piece is because I love Sedona and the bits of texture in the red/brown and blue/white areas are my favorite parts.
This is two gallery-wrapped canvases, each 24" x 30" x 1.5." Edges finished in black and ready to hang!
Curator's Note: An absolutely statement, this piece covers both warm and cool tones in a completely harmonious manner.
KR Moehr is an artist in Tucson, AZ. Originally from Michigan, I spent many happy hours roaming through the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) and marveling at masterpieces and developing a true love for art. I eventually earned a B.A. in Communications and worked in marketing/communications for automotive suppliers in suburban Detroit. Eventually, I moved west to rainy/quirky Portland, OR and lived there for several years during which I first picked up a paintbrush to record a particularly lovely watercolor sunset. It was awful; I was hooked. My life journey took me to my current home in sunny Arizona where I love to try to capture some of the natural desert beauty and amazing sky shows we get. After working to learn and hone my artistic skills, I now paint mostly in the abstract expressionist style and enjoy working with textured art. My media of choice is acrylics or water-based oils.
