Here is a relief print that is following the newer (current) thematic path of my work, I dropped the idea of "home" and have been working on themes associated with women and the female body. Here I made a pattern of ribbed and smooth g-spot vibrators in pink. There are dark pink shadows and white highlights to add even more repetition and pattern into the print. I like that these are not necessarily recognizable as vibes right away .... Also, the title control suggests the sexual freedom for women and the idea that it is no longer truly taboo for women to be sexual either alone or with a partner. This print is on traditional relief printing rice paper, so it is very thin and fragile.
I am an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from rural Eastern CT, I received my BFA from Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford in 2010 and my MFA from Pratt Institute in 2014. I am passionate about visual art and am continuously making. In the beginning of my art career I liked to explore subjects such as landscapes, horses, and still life but as I grow as an artist I am more interested in exploring femininity and the body. Idont like to be limited by art media, so you can find me working in painting and drawing to printmaking and sculpture, and anything in between.
