Melding with the wildness of her surroundings, Wilomena stands silently as the wind cascades her mane across her face. Heavily textured, Acrylic on canvas with a high-gloss varnish finish in cherrywood floater frame. From my Wild Wilomena series. Previous versions have been in traditional, autumn, desert, and carnival palettes. I love seeing viewers' reactions as they "discover" Wilomena emerging from what they thought was just a wild swirl of abstract color. A great conversation piece to brighten your home or office space!
Oh! Now I see it! -- my favorite reaction of viewers of my art. Using a combination of painting and drawing techniques, I brush, spatter, splash, scrape, and scribble a plain white canvas into a symphony of color. With my hyper-expressive techniques, I try to put you in touch with the energy within my subjects, which could be a musician filling the air with a melody or a herd of wild mustangs thundering down a hillside. Many of my clients have noticed that my personal style has evolved from a loose realism into what resembles a combination of the techniques of my two favorite artists, one from post-impressionism and the other from abstract expressionism. I like to call the style, Vincent van Pollock. I am a native Texan and live in the Dallas area. My formal art training took place in Austin, Texas where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Texas. Other interests of mine are playing and singing Bluegrass music, and songwriting.
