This piece is part of the "Clandestine Simulacrum" series. The title translated literally means secret self portrait.
I haven't made an image in my likeness for 15 years prior to this collection. The mere thought of it was daunting to say the least. I created pieces that represented fragments of me. This being one. Throughout making the art for this series I found inspiration to make an actual image of myself. Its reduced to the skeleton as a nod to my classic imagery. Upon the completion of this body of work I found that the individual pieces to equate to the missing pieces of my face in my self portrait.
