My work explores the process of color, shape, composition, and subject as they work in tandem. I am inspired by the balance of these elements in their surroundings. The passage of images in a person’s daily life has become a wash of color. My work takes the impressions of these fleeting moments and gives them a stage to set a projected narrative used to live out a person’s fantasies. Working with each element, I weave the layers of subject and background together oftentimes being unable to distinguish between the two. Inspired by artists like RB Kitaj and Paul Cezanne, my work borders on the line between abstraction and impressionism.
