Ready to Hang
I created this piece in 2013 when traveling to Napa Valley from San Francisco in California. I think its California's lack of rain that made this image mean so much. I took a photo of a field while storm clouds covered the area but a ray of light captured the growth while all surrounding areas were dim from the grey clouds. The contrast was beautiful. It started raining heavily which is where the broad strokes come in. They represent the clouds and rain that came in fast and ugly!
Ken was raised in various regions across Maine. After graduating the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Ken spent the next 10 years living in the central coast region of California. During that time, Lund understudied with live event painter, Greg Kalamar. Soon after, Lund began capturing live events all across California. Now living in Maine, Ken offers live event painting services all across New England. In addition to Lund's live event work, he is also dedicated to his studio work primarily focused on landscapes in abstract and impressionistic style.
