"Mother's Favorite Spot" is reminiscent of a parent's love. The lateral elements were inspired by the lake on his mother's property located on Maine's mid coastal region. With more focus on abstract strokes, Lund hoped to covey the expression of loss when faced with passing of his mother. The painting is primarily tones of blues and purples with accenting colors. The edges are painted black and the canvas is protected with a matte varnish.
Ken was raised in various regions across Maine. After graduating the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Ken spent the next 10 years living in the central coast region of California. During that time, Lund understudied with live event painter, Greg Kalamar. Soon after, Lund began capturing live events all across California. Now living in Maine, Ken offers live event painting services all across New England. In addition to Lund's live event work, he is also dedicated to his studio work primarily focused on landscapes in abstract and impressionistic style.
