My process involves many layers of paint. The finished paintings are colorful, frenetic, and sometimes heavy with layers of thick paint. My work explores how paint interacts with light and creates a bright and engaging interaction of color and material. I work mainly with acrylic paint because I love the plasticity. I alternate between using brushes and my hands when I paint. Sometimes I use no brushes at all. Using my hands to paint opens up a more primitive connection with the process and evokes similar imagery as prehistoric "finger flutings". I enjoy experimenting with my process and my mediums, and I love to find new meaning in my changing process.

I started painting about seven years ago, and since then making art has taken over my life. In December 2016 I graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Printmaking and a minor in Art History. I have worked on murals and private commissions, and I'm always working on new projects.
