This piece combines my love of painting and printmaking. I taped down the edges of this sheet of canvas paper, then brushed watered down india ink across the surface, leaving horizontal trails of grey droplets across the surface. I then took a sheet of watercolor paper and pressed it onto the droplet-covered surface of the canvas paper. I peeled them apart and allowed them to dry, and this is the result. The water resistant nature of the canvas paper created an interesting image of organic lines and shapes. It reminds me of following droplets across a car window in heavy rain.
I started painting about seven years ago, and since then making art has taken over my life. In December 2016 I graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Printmaking and a minor in Art History. I have worked on murals and private commissions, and I'm always working on new projects.
