What amazes me about art, is that whilst each artist may use the same reference to paint, each piece represents their own vision, perspective and palate, creating work that is truly unique.
My process involves being inspired by my surroundings, usually nature. I enjoy taking photos of landscapes, mountains, beach scenes, water, plants and flowers with a vision to use this as my reference.
I create impressions of my reference and reproduce this by using a palate that is mixed with primary colours only.
Hi! I'm Kelly, born in Manchester, and raised in Shrewsbury (UK). I have lived in Melbourne for nine years working as a nurse, whilst knowing i have an artistic creative nature. I first discovered my artistic streak during my school days, and this subject resulted in one of my best grades. In recent years i decided to tap into my artistic self and join a regular art class. For two years i painted with Linda Gibbs (a well known Melbourne Artist). It was here i had the opportunity to enter my first exhibition, submitted two portraits and sold my first piece! I currently paint in a formal art class weekly with the guidance of Adriane Strampp. (also a well known Melbourne artisit). I am inspired by people across the life span and nature. I use oil on canvas and have painted many portraits, streetscapes & some still life. My artwork is really a journey of discovery, of the life around me and of my potential.
