This is an original screen print on paper, very limited edition of 10. It is signed, titled and numbered on front of print and was made in 2016.
I spent the month of August 2015 traveling over 8,000 miles throughout the Western half of America. This print was inspired by the natural beauty that surrounded me on this trip. Though not representational of one place, this print represents the surroundings I found in California and Colorado. As well, my fascination with the sky and time of day is also represented in this print. An airplane makes an appearance in this print because of a wanderlust desire and to represent how people move through the world.
Since moving to Dallas, my artwork has focused heavily on natural landscapes (quite possibly because Dallas lacks any of this). The size and abundance of trees, mountains and open land that I found in the West have become heavily influential in my new artwork.
Due to the nature of the screen printing process, buyers should note that prints may vary slightly from that shown on screen. This does mean that each print in the edition is unique and each print is printed by hand.
My practice is focused on screen printing techniques and my work is fueled by an interest in the identity of place. I aim to provide a unique perception and understanding and offer a composite of real and imagined places. I am an award winning artist currently living in North Texas, USA. I received my Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2007, concentrating in Graphic Design, at C.W. Post College/Long Island University, in New York. From 2009-2011 I studied at The School of Visual Arts’ Continuing Education program in New York City until I moved to London to develop my printmaking practice full time. In 2012 I received a Masters degree with Merit at Camberwell College of Art/University of the Arts London in printmaking. In 2013 I was granted a month long printmaking Artist Residency at the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York, USA. My work has been exhibited regularly in London, at Art Fairs and exhibitions, and is currently exhibited in Hong Kong, London and the United States.
