Curator's Note: We see crows across Katharine's work, which makes her screen prints not only stylistically recognizable, but also indicative of deep exploration in the many ways an artist can present one form.

This is an original screen print on paper, limited edition size of 25. It is signed, titled and numbered on front of print.

I created this piece in 2014 and it is part of a series of screen prints titled 'Crow Country'. I studied ravens and crows for a year while I was living in London, England and was consistently inspired by their movement and the local mythology behind the birds. This specific print was also influenced by my remaining time in London before my return to America. The birds at rest, though appear as if they are about to fly away, represent how I was feeling at the time, at rest though unable to relax with my impending departure. The imagery of ravens and crows can be seen in a majority of my work between 2011-2014.

Due to the nature of the screen printing process, buyers should note that prints may vary slightly from that shown on screen. This does mean that each print in the edition is unique and each print is printed by hand.

My practice is focused on screen printing techniques and my work is fueled by an interest in the identity of place. I aim to provide a unique perception and understanding and offer a composite of real and imagined places. I am an award winning artist currently living in North Texas, USA. I received my Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2007, concentrating in Graphic Design, at C.W. Post College/Long Island University, in New York. From 2009-2011 I studied at The School of Visual Arts’ Continuing Education program in New York City until I moved to London to develop my printmaking practice full time. In 2012 I received a Masters degree with Merit at Camberwell College of Art/University of the Arts London in printmaking. In 2013 I was granted a month long printmaking Artist Residency at the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York, USA. My work has been exhibited regularly in London, at Art Fairs and exhibitions, and is currently exhibited in Hong Kong, London and the United States.
