This painting depicts a portion of the Appalachian Trail in the Green Mountains of Vermont. I hiked (just a tiny bit) of this branch of the Trail in mid July, and many hikers were making their way towards the end of the long trek of the AT. While my humble AT ambitions may be a bit of a departure from theirs, I'm glad to share the landscape with them, nonetheless! Thanks for looking!
I have always loved to paint. Although I opted to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist, my love of/involvement in visual arts has never dulled. Nature provides endless inspiration for me. To me, nature in all forms offers a peek at the universal formula of physics and biology, but can be simultaneously emotionally evocative and poetic. It is predictable and orderly but also moody and mysterious. I try to render landscapes and scenery in a way that reflects the juxtaposition of science and human examination of it. Thanks for looking!
