Bold colors and loose brushstrokes are both fountains which help support the vibrant energy that is the hallmark of of my abstract expressionistic paintings. As a third-generation artist, painting was not taught, but observed and learned intuitively as a means to express my creative energy. I try to utilize painting as an outlet to materialize experience and feelings jubilantly onto the canvas. An admirer said "Looking at her work is like getting a flirty wink. Youthful shapes that engage the eye and emit a sweet, and sometimes sassy, feminine tone".
I am greatly influenced by the abstract expressionist movement of the mid 20th century. Favorite artists from that era are: Richard Diebenkorn, Mark Rothko and Joan Mitchell.
I am a self-taught abstract artist who was born and raised in New Orleans but now resides in Lafayette, LA.
